did amendments from athlone & swellendam councils for two houses that i am busy doing which is house naran - athlone and house abdullah - swellendam . updated the jakupa database and the registration including the photoshop training for the jakupa bragwall of the completed projects in the company's boardroom.

started from where i stopped before the block going to council for council submissions @ athlone & cape town media city and site visits and on the 10 november it was my birthday bought cake for the office they sang and it was a celebration an dfriday had fripro that was presented by one of my collegues.

31 october - 04 november 2011

- monday attended revision class for the abs final exams.
- tuesday with top stairs group doing the base of the decking, digging and compact filling the wholes.
- wednesday continuing with the top stairs footings and compact fill the last footings of the whole decking.
- thursday finishing up the decking using the palettes timbers for top of the decking and the stairs leading to the main structure (pergola) and did the whole process of the garden with the landscaper did the first lasagne bed showing the teachers of the school the whole process and planted the half of the first bed of the vegetables and half done the middle bed as the school was going to be finishing off the whole process.
- friday - cleaned up the gardening area -collecting everything that was untidy around the garden alone. preparing for the handing over of the site , the most maraculous moment of the handing over was when the children where hand printing the wall.

friday the 28 th and the saturday the 29th

- friday attended abs class/revision for the exams.
-saturday it was the continuation of the site work while were busy finishing of the painting of the beams

24-28 OCTOBER 2011

- manday & tuesday the whole class was @ thomas pattullo everything started a bit chilling & slowly and for the first day we were briefly told what was the whole block all about & on the 2nd day wrote two tests (stw&ctd)
-wednesday paid a visit to the greenpoint park did some sketches of the structures, joints connection and shown everything has now changed from wayback were by domes were built with bamboo and joined with animal skin straps and covered with animal skins /canvases and now in nowadays they are built with steel columns,beamsand joined with bolts and steel plates and supported with concrete footing instead of rocks and big stones and some of the spaces have suspended roofs as symbol of walkways & and seating areas.the hub with performance stage, steel bracing.
-thursday went to site for the first time after the january site visit and we were shown what we needed to do firstly we painted the timber beams as a team with one of my group members we prepared sandwiches for the lunch time and after that we continued with some more work while others were busy with the columns concrete footings on the site and knocked of @ 15h30.

my challenges for the year

@ the beginning of this year I have founded it very hard to be looking for a job as I had worked before for an Architectural firm 2009 I didn't found it very hard to find a job for that matter I didn't experince any problems or didn't even took me a week to find a job it was a matter of a day and I was employed same day but this was one of the things I founded very hard but I only had one interview then I was employed at Jakupa Architects and urban designers and everything was not difficult as I had worked before I was familiar with almost everything around the office.

Applying for Jakupa Architects and Urban Designers to be registered to other companies Database-all I have to do is to make it a point that Jakupa is registered to each and every company that I have applied for by following up the application that I have made or update the Jakupa registration to that particular company.

house chetty, and harmony flats

I had to take over from one of my colleagues(intern) as he was living Jakupa -House Chetty -corrections and amendments for council purpose for the new house and made them as required and for harmony flats I was doing sanitary schedules and samples and specification for sanitary ware for the building.

Interior work

Simply asia is a resturant specialising in Asian food and is situated in different town in South africa and Jakupa is designing few of them around South Africa and I was only involved /took part in two of them where by I had to produce AUTOCAD drawings and Sketchup models for the existing buildings and had to give it the Interior designers @ Jakupa  and design the interior spaces.

Stadiums for athletes

Pointing out the room stamps for the two athletics stadiums in Green point and the project is still on tender state I had to specify each and every door, floor finish, wall finish and the room numbers.

With the supervision of a colleague I had to prepare door,window,shop fronts and gate numbers and the project state is still in progress with three floors and submit council drawings and the client is the Provincial Government Western Cape .

where I started

This is one of my first projects @ Jakupa -House Jacobs is currently on hold for Mr Khalied Jacobs all I had to do was measuring up and drawings/graphics required for thefive room house and two garages,with the help of a colleague(intern), We measure up the floors, heights and boundaries of the house and I prepared set of AUTOCAD dawings for the existing house.

House Abdullah is in swellendam all I had to do was to do corrections to drawings already prepared by others for a new house and with the supervision of my boss, I have made the corrections and the colouring up of the drawings for the council and what I find more difficult is the submissions of these drawings as I had to call courier company in order for me to be able to submit as this house is situated in swellendam so each everytime I need to do more amendments I have to call the council people and sometimes they wont even ansa their phones and this now makes the process of the submission more slower.

This is one of Projects that were on hold and I had to make some corrections as they were drawn by an intern that working there the previous year, with the help of my colleague, I had made some corrections  preparing the drawings to be ready for council submissions and that includes the colouring up of the drawings and this was design a new granny flat addition to a old house.

project involvement

This project was for Mr Chocky Moodley of Peninsula Drums and my job description required me to  champion the project  what I did with the help of a colleague, I measured up the floors of four factories as well as all the machines on the floor and prepared a set of CAD layouts which were coloured up on Photoshop and issued to the client for use asa agraphic in his factories and the status of the project was completed within a period of four days.

What i've founde out is that after this blog my mind is more clearer and more understanding what am I suppose to do for this year and I'm sure that if we were attending more classes everything was going to be smooth clearer even moreand I all i need is to be more commited and blog @ the same time.

Being @ in the working Industry

We had an opportunity of being taught how to run ur own business, how to deal and how to treat ur own clients, how to communicatewith ur staff and keep ur staff in a good mood. I was also given responsibilities of doing Supplier's Database applications,questionnares and follow ups,Council submissions for the Dorp street building where I had to deal with the Heritage Department ie. HWC and Cape Town Department of Heritage.

I can't withhold da excitement within me and its all abt me being involved with two companies and da GPAS & A-TRACK (Green Point Athletics Stadium & Athletics Track) !I am a part of this prestigious project and my involvement is basically to a finishes schedules ie.ceiling, walls, floor finishing and roomstamps.

I had a presentation abt da Taal Monument in Paarl which went extremely well due to the outing during our first block, I had to tell abt Taal Monument design, function,surroundings, and its significance and why is it in the Province of Western cape and I also had to tell them abt the formation or the the birth of the Language.
